Description

Bought a new air die grinder and wanted to put it straight to Gridfinity instead of keeping it in the cardboard box that it came in as has happened with some of my other tools.  I could have just fit it into 1x4 squares, but that wouldn't have left enough space for its wrenches, so I used 2x4 instead.  This also allowed it to lay on its side, reducing the vertical height needed.  There was some unused space, so I made a recess to hold a single carbide burr, and another for storage of whatever.

I left both ends open for a couple of reasons.  First, the walls would have been super thin there had I tried to close them off, and second, if there is some space left at the one end of the bin, the burr can be left installed and just extend into space.  At the opposite end, if you are using a different style of quick disconnect, the tool may still fit and just overhang a little.  After printing this out, I made the cutout for the safety tab a little more generous, and that's the version I uploaded here.

Like my other Gridfinity models, the base is altered to accept 6x3 magnets as a press fit, with the upper surface of the magnet holes modified to make the slicer bridge across correctly for a clean result.  Due to the size of this model, I have included sacrificial “mouse ears” in the CAD to give the ends more surface area to help prevent them warping off the bed.  These will need to be removed after printing.  If you'd prefer to look at the IR company logo instead of the data tag, simply mirror the model in your slicer.

The unit pictured was printed out of Polymaker ABS on my Voron 2.4, using a 0.6mm nozzle, at 0.3mm layer height.
