Description
Overview:
My cousin wanted some small, flat decorative strawberries for a sign she was making for her daughter. I designed these little strawberries, which have three color layers.
Layer 1 - Red, this is the base of the strawberry or the “background”
Layer 2 - Black, this is the seed layer
Layer 3 - Green, the leaves on top are the “tallest” layer of the model.
I recommend slicing the model and adding pauses after layer 1 is done, and another after layer 2 is done. You do not need a fancy color-changing system to do this, but I'm sure these also work. I just swap filament during pauses.
Once I made these, there were kind of a pain to store. Instead of putting them in a plastic bag, I designed a container based on the little strawberries! It's just scaled up, mainly on the X and Y axis only to keep it thin. The base of the container is just printed 100% in red, with no color changes needed.
If you're wondering, the container as-is will hold exactly 25 little strawberries.
Print Settings:
Material: Polymaker PLA Pro (though you could use almost anything for this)
Layer Height: 0.12 mm for detail, the container could be 0.12, 0.16, or 0.2mm
Supports: Not needed
Brim: No for the little berries, I didn't need one for the container, but your mileage may vary
