Description
This cap is designed to provide protection to the extreemly fragile glass neck of the Macintosh 9-inch CRT during storing or shipping, or while working inside the Mac. Push the cap down over the CRT neck and the four prongs snap onto the plastic ring around the base of the neck.
I have come across two versions of the CRT that differ in the width of the connection block on the side of the neck. The cap has two cutouts that match these two widths so it fits both types. There may be other variants of the CRT used by Apple which this cap does not fit. If you come across one, feel free to message me so I can look at revising the design.
NOTE: This cap is NOT intended for use when the Macintosh is on and it does NOT provide protection from the potentially lethal electric shock that a CRT can deliver.
I print this using PLA+ for additional strength but it should be fine with standard PLA. I have found that special PLA such as mat, silk or metalic tend to be more brittle so I would not advise using these.
