Description

Introducing the Vanguard 13!

Designed with frontline deployment and melee prowess in mind, the Vanguard is the latest soldier in the 13th War Effort!

This is my most tested model to date. As you can see, I've printed the final model five times already, with a sixth coming out as I type this. I wanted to make absolutely sure that the runners would work on even the crappiest filaments I had, so anyone could print it with ease. Most of the parts are simple enough, some even easier than the original dummy because of increased surface area.

The two that I spent the time to add runners to are the HIPS AND SHIN ARMOR; these two have very poor bed adhesion and required the runners. The first layer might need some supervision, but once they're past the 5th layer or so they should be perfectly fine.

As always, my second objective next to making it look cool is to make sure the models print as easily as possible.

The shin frame goes in like this, to keep the shin armor held up. Can't have the Vanguard tripping everywhere, now can we?

The smaller of the two extrusions face towards the back of the Vanguard.

Additionally, the left and right hips do have a very, very slight difference between them, but enough to allow for a bit more mobility.

Most other Dummy mods should work here, so long as they don't require the original chest or change the thighs. The clearance is kinda tight between the hips and thighs. Things like backpacks, arms and feet will work fine though.

Also used for a few of the photos is my Assault Cannon Backpack:
