Gomax Quadra W00001 replacement case

At the company I work for, we have a case to make HVAC hoses for pressure switches a.s.o.

The lid was broken so all small parts in the organizer part of the lid all got mixed up together.

At hardware store Hornbach I found this very nice PP case from the brand Industrial.

This case I like because the size meets my needs, the material and all over construction feels very strong. It has space for (originally) 6 containers for small parts.

But…. It needs some work to perfectly fit my needs

1. The provided 6 containers are not enough
2. The provided containers are very capable to old bigger things but not the very small parts we need to into the boxes
3. The original case has space for 2 tools (crimping and cutting), the case I bought doesn't
4. Not exactly necessary but what I do like: Logo of the company I work for

So after thinking and designing I came op with this solution:

1. 2 different replacement containers. I ‘cut’ an original container in 2 halves so 2 smaller containers replace 1 original big container
2. To be able to store even very small parts I created a container which has 4 compartments. Each compartment can be separately shut with a TPU lid
3. To put the 2 tools into the case, I created 2 holders which I connected with some rivets into the lid of the case. The holder for the cutting pliers also has a small compartment on the right to place the spare knives. To prevent the bag with knives to fall out, I added a ‘flap’ which prevents this.
4. The blue Industrial logo got replaced with a new (in TPU printed) logo printed in 4 colors.

All parts can be printed without supports.

I printed all parts in TPU

The part which holds the cutting pliers has a circle on the left of the model. This circle is for better bed adhesion. Otherwise the left part will warp upwards. So after printing just tear off the circle.

Additionally I added a DXF which I created to laser cut a piece of foam. I glued this piece of foam on the inside of the lid of the case to better seal the containers when the lid is closed.
