Description
In the context of modernization plans, fire departments in germany are transitioning their alerting systems to digital tetra alerting. Conventional radio receivers are being replaced by modern devices such as Motorola’s ADVISOR™ TPG2200 TETRA-Pager. Although fabric belt bags are available for this model, they offer insufficient comfort, and there is a risk that the device may shift or fall from the belt—potentially causing damage to the expensive receiver.
For this reason, various carrying cases from other manufacturers are available online at sometimes exorbitant prices. To counteract this price development, I have decided to develop an open-source solution (the provided files) that can be implemented by anyone with the necessary technical aptitude and tools.
Attached you will find detailed assembly instructions in german and english.
** Work in process ** – Version 2 --
In the second version of the pager, a locking mechanism was integrated into the housing.
This makes use of the deformability of the printed material to create a small resistance. This is intended to make it even more difficult for the pager to slip out.
Whether this design is suitable for everyday use and durable still needs to be tested.
In addition, inlets for magnets have been added to allow a customised site panel to be attached (the intended magnets have a size of ⌀ 8 mm x 1 mm.).
When assembling, the holes may need to be reworked. The polarity of the magnets must also be considered. It may be necessary to use an adhesive.
It has not yet been tested whether the magnets provide the necessary hold.
Feel free to test the new design and give me feedback afterwards.
