Description

This is a Z-Upgrade 3.2d-H iteration (H, for heavy), It answers the need to make a very tall printer (800-1500mm)

  • It features a new Starlock unit, with M5 square nuts to withstand the load

  • The bottom plate of the VC4 need some modifications:

-5mm holes instead of the stock 3mm

-3-4mm thickness of the plate OR place 2 3030 extrusions on the mid section

This iteration got only few hardware modifications; 12x M5x50 screws, 12x M5x8x8x2.5 nut

You can add the reinforced arms to this set too

Adaptation of the production grade "Z-Upgrade" for VCORE 4.0

Upgrade to replace the original Z with a ballscrew system.

More precise, very reliable over time, offers a very high repeatability in the Z movement compared to a trapezoidal screw.

Maintenance-free*. Made to last in a production line. No wobble over Z. Proofed design over 2021. More than 350+ users since 2021.

A lot of things has been reworked on this iteration compare to the previous Z-Upgrade 2.0:

  • Simplification of parts list, easier implementation. direct bolt in upgrade.

  • Directly bolted to the VCORE 4.0 frame and underplate. Re-use the Stock VC4 top retainers + bearings.

  • No need of surelevation; the Stock VC4 feet will only need to be adjusted to the height. (+17mm)

  • Compatible natively with Wobble X, Oldham V3 proofed printed rings compatible too

  • Dense integration of the Oldham/Wobble X in the Arms

  • Motor reduction for a very high holding torque, even when the motor aren't active. Proofed for heavy future custom bed, or bigger custom print volume machines. Vcore 500 can now run standard Nema 17 without risks of fall when the motor are powered off

  • Motor reduction + ballscrew allowing an insane precision over the Z-Motion, extreme constistencies, allow thin and repetable layer over time

  • No maintenance needed (cleaning+thin lubrication once a year is enough)

  • Z-motors easy tension over the 6mm timing belt with 1x M6 screw

  • Add +10mm of Z distance (Oldham V3), or +15mm with Wobble X

  • All included, no self soucing to do (for the Store version).

  •  SFU1605 version

Revision 3.0:

  1. -Release

Revision 3.1:

  1. -For ease of installation

  2. -SPI join adaptation from regular BK12 unit

  3. -Notches for NEMA connector

  4. -Bolting pattern from M6 to M4 to a fare easier instalation

Revision 3.2:

  1. -BRS StarLock system, Mainbody identical for 1204/1605

  2. Allow simpler production of the parts, less complex, less supports, less part across  ballscrew variation, and an ease of assembly.

  3. -Mainbody material reduction, weight and shape optimisation

  4. -Bottom slider for the nema slightly redesigned to better fonctions

Revision 3.2b:

  1. -Body correction to correct the 6mm 190mm sync Belt use (for previous iterations)

  2. -Top part simplified to be used across 1204/1605 variant without the need to use the SPI Join

  3. -Inner BK10/12 cavity dimension slightly enlarged from 34mm to 35mm; I saw some BK  metal plates to be larger (34.5mm) depending the ballscrew brands and manufacturing origins. This modification delete any potential future issues about that kind of problems

  4. -StarLock corrected for the same reasons

  5. -You can now use 180-186mm belts

  6. -Slight enlargement of the arm hole for the 1605 iteration

  7. -BOM slighly modified after feedbacks

  8. -Reinforced arms option for big machine in 1605

  9. -Rear Mainbody reshaped for an ease of assembly

Revision 3.2c:

  1. -Z contrains corrected for the 1605 version, enlarged and made for 6000zz type bearings

  2. -Wiper footprint corrected

  3. Rear arm VAOC module compliant

  4. Small adjustments

  5. 6x180mm sync belt 180mm advised (acceptable range 180-186mm)

Revision 3.2c-H:

  1. Super heavy design for tall printers

  2. StarLock modification for M5 square nuts

  3. Top modified for M5 screws

Revision fix (09/05/2025):

  1. Small fix on the rear mainbody for a better printablility

Revision 3.2d-H: ACTIVE

  1. New arms retaineing spring system

  2. Rear arm VAOC fix

  3. Under body ID enlargement to fit a more broad 60T OD type (up to 46mm)
