Description
We are SycaTech#18268, a robotics team competing in FIRST FTC. As part of our project MUSYCA, we developed an innovative way to play the guitar using only one hand. We created two assistive solutions:
ArmStrum – A foot-controlled strumming device that strums all the guitar strings with the press of a button attached to a foot strap.
PressChord – A chord-playing system that uses floor-mounted buttons to press chords on the guitar.
We would love for you to print, use, and share our designs to spread the impact of our project!
Required Components
General:
ArmStrum:
building:
It's pretty straightforward. Connect the servo to the body, the gear to the servo horn and to the servo, the arm with the clip, the threaded inserts to the two holes on the arm in order to use the bolts to press on the guitar pick, and finally to the wings.
PressChord:
building:
The assembly requires some work but is easy for those willing to invest the effort.
First, assemble the servos onto their holders, then attach the accessories to the servo horns and to the servo. Afterward, insert the clips into the body and assemble the holder according to the clip. To ensure a solid connection, it's recommended to “weld” the connection between the holder and the body with a soldering iron.
Our goal is to publish these designs on 3D printing websites so they can be widely accessible. We appreciate your support in bringing MUSYCA to more people!
