Description

Please Note

This is more of a proof of concept than an actually useful WDT.

Although this tool does sort of distribute your coffee, it does so very slowly. Also it is pretty loud while in use.

How it works

This WDT works by pushing the top part down. This oscillating linear movement is then turned into a unidirectional rotational motion and that again is used to create a set of cycloid curves the needles follow.

It is designed to go on top of a 58mm portafilter.

Materials

Besides filament, you will need:

  • 24 needles  (less is also perfectly fine)
  • 2 M3x25mm screws and M3 nuts.
  • 4 5,5x35mm springs

Assembly

This is an exploded drawing of the model. The parts are numbered from top to bottom.

If you've assembled everything and it still won't move properly, put some plant oil onto the inner moving parts to reduce friction.

Please let me know if there are any steps that I should explain in more detail.
