Description
Bring science to life with this educational, cartoon-style Avian Influenza (AI) virus 3D model!
Perfect for classrooms, outreach events, poultry professionals, or science enthusiasts — this model adds personality and clarity to an important topic in animal health.
Avian Influenza (AI), often called “bird flu,” is a contagious viral disease affecting both wild and domestic birds. It's caused by influenza type A viruses, which vary in severity and impact.
• LPAI (Low Pathogenic Avian Influenza) – Mild or no symptoms, especially in wild birds
• HPAI (Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza) – Severe, often fatal in poultry, and highly contagious
The virus spreads through direct contact, contaminated surfaces (feeders, boots, tools), and airborne particles — especially in enclosed spaces.
Waterfowl are common carriers, able to transmit the virus to chickens without appearing sick.
This model helps introduce the concept of biosecurity, which is critical for poultry health:
• Keep birds separate from wild flocks
• Disinfect tools, boots, and housing regularly
• Quarantine new birds before introducing to the flock
• Monitor and report any signs of illness early
Avian Influenza is also a health concern, with rare cases affecting humans — highlighting the connection between animal, environmental, and public health.
