Description

Soft grip for 50 mm thick body hand coffee grinder (no particular brand), printed from flexible material, such as TPU. It does:

  • improves grip when grinding,
  • allows to knock out stuck coffee grounds from the container by bumping it into the grip without damaging your grinder body surface,
  • includes practical hook that holds the handle when put for storage.

Soft shoe added:

  • increases grinder stability,
  • no worries about scratching or denting other surfaces when handling the fairly heavy metal body grinder,
  • complements the grinder shape visually.

Printing notes:

  • Slicing
    - Layer height 0.2 mm works fine for me, adjust to your liking if needed.
    - Use Fuzzy skin with height modifier for the height above the hook (10 mm and higher) to increase hand-grip and improve the look. Fuzzy skin distance 0.4 mm and size 0.1 mm worked for me, but feel free to adjust. I also tried knurling texture before, but it didn't come out well with narrow thickness and flex material capabilities of my printer.
  • Materials: printed with 40D shore flex, but any suitable hardness that doesn't slide off and suits your liking is fine.
  • Fine-tuning: lowering the XY size when slicing can help increase fixation of the grip to the body. Some flex materials can become a bit loose after lot of grinding when you grip it hard.

Enjoy your coffee grinding!
