Description

After making your perfect shot of coffee you always have to clean the portafiller. It is always the most annoying task to do. This tool makes it easy and cheap to compared to commercial products to clean your portafiller fast and easily. The total cost of this project was $10 while commercial products like QuinSpin can cost $500.

The blade may look simple to other designs, but that is for a reason. It a asymmetrical “blade” to clean the coffee. This is because when cleaning it should take all the stuck grounds of coffee out. Other designs suffer from this design flaw. No other products have done this before.

 

 

This design uses a 12v electric dc motor (Model number : JGA25-370). It is cost cheap and easy to find. I chose this motor because it has a 350RPM which is not too fast and not too slow.

 

 

Instructions:

Make a hole in your table for the base. Place the base into the hole. I made it a simple design for people to use their own method of turning on the motor. You can use a switch that gets pressed when you press your portafiller or one on the outside. I placed a switch in the base to get triggered by the portafill

 

 

 

 

 

 

Place the motor in the motorholder. Then place the motor holder in the base. The motor will be a tight fit in the motorbase so that it does not move around. The base and the motorbase should be able to move.

 

 

 

 

 

Finally put on the blade and connect to a 12v power source.

 

I have put my cad files in the folder. I will make a version 2 in the future that uses brushes to clean the portafiller better and make a cool switch mechanism. Feel free to improve my design and share.
