Description
The Timemore Sculptor comes with a lovely magnetic catch cup, but it's just barely too big to use neatly with a 54mm portafilter (such as on most Breville/Sage espresso machines). This is an alternate 3D-printable catch cup for the 064/064s and 078/078s models, that also has an optional snap-on lid available.
Note that long-term contact between food and 3D printed parts is generally not recommended.
To build this, you'll need to print your proper size of catch cup and a baseplate (PETG recommended), insert an 18x3mm ceramic magnet into the indentation at the bottom of the catch cup (making sure to orient it the same way as on the factory cup!), and glue it all together with the baseplate to cover over the magnet. The cup itself should be printed upright using sparse supports, which can be tricky to remove. I recommend a higher-than-usual Z offset for the support top.
There is also an alignment jig which might make it a little easier for you to line up the baseplate. That also includes a hole into which you can put another magnet to hold everything together while your adhesive cures.
If you would like to purchase one of these pre-assembled, I often have some available on my Etsy shop.
