Description
It is impossible to tell which LED is illuminated when viewing the control panel of the CATLINK Scooper from above. It looks like multiple LEDS are illuminated, it confuses people looking after the cat when on vacation.
The problem is light bleeds from adjacent LEDS hitting the perpex light guides making it look very much like other LEDS are on. This little shield clips over the outside of the row of perpex light guides, preventing light entering from LEDS next to them. You can see in the photos, the perpex tubes without the shield and then with it fitted. The final photos show how clearly only the LEDS intended to be illuminated are illuminated after fitting the guide.
Slide the shield over the top of the existing perspex tubes. Use a very dark filament that wont pass light! Also recommend printing a brim on the print to make it stick to the bed and give a clean edge.
You will need to disassemble the CatLink Scooper, there are videos on you tube for this. Then unscrew the control panel with the four screws, one in each corner. This part friction fits over the top of the existing tubes. Slide it on until the top is flush with the top of the tubes, as shown in the photo.
Then reassemble the Scooper.
