Update (4/11/25):

Modified Voron 2.4R2 Z-drives were added that seal off the bottom opening beneath the live shaft pulleys to provide a better seal in the chamber.  Use the belt covers that will cover the area around the belt to aid in the sealing.  The belt covers will only work for those with 4mm thick deck panels (BOM spec).  Use the .step files to modify if you have a different thickness deck panel.  The covers should be held in place by being sandwiched between the deck panel and the Z-drives but if it fits loose, the M5 bolt holes are there to fix them onto the extrusions.

Added TPU blind joint covers to cover the blind joint holes to improve the sealing of the chamber.  Print in TPU and slide into the extrusions.  These were designed for the BOM Misumi extrusions and tested to fit perfectly on the extrusions from the LDO kit.  Scale the covers up or down if they fit too loose or too tight.  If you have a different type of 2020 extrusion, it may not work for you.

Benefits to this simple mod:

  • Covers the extrusions to prevent dust and plastic from accumulating in the extrusions.
  • Insulates the aluminum extrusion from the chamber for better chamber heat retention.
  • Seals the gap between the deck panel and extrusions for better heat and fume retention.
  • Z-covers have channels for a cable to pass through under the deck for in-chamber cameras, lights, and other devices without using an unsightly cutout.

Apply 2mm thick, 5mm wide foam tape in the groove underneath the covers.

Use wile-e1's deck panel supports to support the deck panel from below for the best seal.

This was designed for the 300mm Voron 2.4r2.  If you have a different printer size, use the provided .step file to make adjustments.  Share as a remix to help others!

Print longer pieces diagonally on build plate.  Use XY shrinkage compensation settings if printing in ABS/ASA (usually around 99.3-99.5% depending on brand of ASA/ABS – 99.5% is a good starting point).  If your slicer doesn't support shrinkage compensation, increase the scale of the X and Y by .5% as a good starting point.  Print one side only to verify fitment before committing to printing the entire thing.  No supports required, and .stl files are oriented correctly for printing.

Shrinkage compensation shouldn't be needed for the TPU blind joint covers but print one of each to see if it fits securely.  If it fits too loose, increase the scale until it stays put on its own.  Scale the tall piece as short or tall as you need it.

M3 T-nuts or Roll-in Nuts
2mm Thick, 5mm Wide Foam Tape: https://a.co/d/522cQkG
M5x8 BHCS x 4 (if you're using the Z-drive Belt Covers)

Tips:

  • If using a nevermore carbon filter in the middle, seal the gap with a high heat tape such as Kapton tape in lieu of the center cover.
  • Install bed fans inward, under the bed.
  • Install the deck supports underneath after you've installed the Z-covers.
