This jig was designed to prepare the back of drawers using the specifications required for Blum TANDEM undermount drawer slides. Other overseas brands found on Amazon often copy these specifications for undermount drawer slides.
Features
- Rear notch guide:
- Mark the location of the rear notch to be cut out using hand tools
- OR guide a router using a flush trim plunge router bit
- Rear bore guide
- Depth guide to set a stop collar for a 6mm drill bit
- Drill location for the 6mm rear bores for the left and right side of the drawer
- The jig is compatible with standard cabinet drawer material thickness (1/2", 5/8", 12mm)
- By indexing off the inside of the drawer's side panels and the top of the rear drawer panel, the jig is universal for material thicknesses up to 3/4"
Instructions
- Fully insert a 6mm drill bit into the depth gauge hole. Slide a stop collar down until it rests on the top surface of the depth guide and tighten the stop collar.
- Place the jig over the back piece of the drawer and slide it all the way over until it contacts the left/right piece of the drawer. Make sure the jig is sitting on top of both the back piece and side piece of the drawer.
- Either mark for the notch and remove inside of the mark using hand tools or use a trim router with a flush trim plunge router bit.
- Use the L bore guide when the jig is on your left and use the R bore guide when the jig is on your right.
- Prepare both the left and right sides of the drawer's back panel
When using the jig as a router guide, the rear notch can be removed quickly, taking less than a minute per box. When using the jig with a router, make sure the clamp the jig to the drawer and clamp the drawer to the work surface. Only use a router if you are capable and comfortable operating trim routers safely.

- The router bit needs to have a ball bearing above the cutting edges and the cutting edges need to be 13mm or 1/2in long
Print Settings
Printed using a 0.40mm nozzle in PLA with a layer height of 0.28mm with tree supports. The model was oriented with the depth guide facing up and the face with the notch guide text on the bed of printer.
