Description
For my retro gaming PC based on Batocera, I use the RS3 Reaper Retro Shooter Lightguns. These require 4 IR sensors (actually IR emitters) placed at the corners of the TV screen. To avoid having these sensors permanently visible, I wanted a solution that allows them to be folded out during use and folded back afterward, so they disappear behind the screen.
I found KatDelgado’s friction hinge mechanism very useful for this, as it keeps the sensors in the desired position. The advantage of KatDelgado’s design is that no printing supports are required, and the hinge can be snapped together without glue. To provide enough friction for the hinge, I printed the InnerTread.stl part at 101%. The original InnerTread.stl is at 100% scale, but in RetroShooterIRSensorHolder.3mf, it is scaled to 101%. You may need to experiment with this part’s scale to achieve your preferred level of friction.
Make sure there is at least 7 cm of space between the back of the TV and the wall to allow the Retro Shooter IR Sensor Holder to fold in. Position the holder where desired and attach it with strong double-sided tape.
