Description

What is this

This device monitors muscle activity through an EMG sensor and tries conditioning it when jaw clenching is detected. If that doesn't work, then it wakes you up in a less scientifical manner.

The end goal is a device that helps reduce damage from bruxism while tracking the jaw activity and possibly help you find bruxism triggers.
As such, any contribution is welcome, feel free to create more modules and contribute to the code.

For example, you might wish to create a headband holder, or a cable organizer.

Every piece interlocks top and bottom with the other pieces of the tower (see step file)
It's made in such a way that you can pull it backwards to disassemble, but it resists front and side pulling (might happen during sleep)

What is included

  • Base + top lid: Holds the Arduino and the OLIMEX EMG shield inside. Holds a button and a buzzer on top
  • Battery module: holds a power bank (check dimensions) and has a lid.
  • Wall mount: Can be mounted to the wall, ideally in a way that doesn't mess with head, sleep and electrodes cables
  • Wall mount lock: Locks the tower on the wall mount piece

What you will need

  1. Arduino Uno R4 WiFi
  2. EMG electrodes and cables
  3. A way to read EMG signals. I am using an OLIMEX EMG shield (open source hardware)
  4. A button
  5. A buzzer
