Description

This miter slide is inspired by a product made by Rockler, and by a similar design by Neil Ramsay (https://www.printables.com/model/452577-45-degree-miter-sled).  This is NON-COMMERCIAL, make for yourself or a friend only.

A few notes about this design, and how to make it:

  1. Print at 50% infill or more, this needs to be rigid.  I used PLA, but others will work.
  2. I have incorporated two gentle fitment bumps on the side of the miter slide detail.  This allows precise adjustment (one time) to the width for your table saw's groove.  Use a file or sanding stick to gently remove material until it fits snug in the groove.  It will break in from there and run smoothly.
  3. Set your slicer for four solid wall layers or more, this makes it more resistant to wear, especially at the fitment bumps.
  4. If this wears out or gets damaged, just print another one!

To use this you cut one end of each frame piece, then move it to the other side of the slide to cut the other end.  For greatest stability, the design includes two through-holes, allowing a clamp to affix the piece during cutting.  See photos.

The results have been great, perfect 90 degree corners.  I suggest the use of a band-clamp as shown, makes assembly a breeze.  Available for cheap on Amazon etc.
