Description
Modular storage solution for holding many laptops in upright position on a storage shelf. Great for IT department warehouse rooms.
One block has dividers for holding four laptops. Multiple blocks fit side by side to fill the whole shelf. Spacing of the dividers is parametric - you can have slim spacings (macbook air) to large spacings (thinkpad).
Assembly
The blocks have 2x holes at their bases for fitting a 3mm diameter brass or steel rod. This is meant to connect multiple blocks into one rigid form, and keep the individual blocks from tipping over or sliding in place. Slide in the rod, then fill both ends with adhesive to keep the rod in place.
For metal shelves or sliding surfaces - put either double-sided tape, or friction tape below the base of the block to keep it from sliding.
Printing
Recommended printing: 20% infill, PETG, smooth sheet (prevent warping during print), no supports (if your printer can handle the topmost arc connection overhang), add a brim for extra warping prevention during print.
Customize divider and laptop widths as desired (f3d file → User Parameters).
