Description

I am 1.94 m tall, and my legs brush under the bottom of the Ikea Laneberg table, not unusable but not perfectly comfortable either.

These extensions rise the table a bit to the perfect height for me… and for you, because they are parametric, so just change the rise amount (t_ext_round and t_ext_square) and find your perfect height.

Here I propose a 1 cm round version, and a 3 cm square version. For taller extensions the square will look better than having a barrell shaped foot under a square leg.

The square version has the same size and rounded corners to prolong the table leg. The original rubber pad sits in a groove on the head of the extension to aid centering it and keeping it in place, you may want to hold it with a bit of glue but mine are held in place just fine by the weight of the table alone. A further round slot is present on the extension as well, it puts some extra vertical wall in the center which is never a bad idea, and allows to add an extra set of rubber pads on the extension as well, if you have a delicate floor.

The round version is modeled after the stock pad, just thicker, with the same serrated male pin. The rubber pads are extremely stubborn to remove in one piece once you have installed them, if you wish to go this way I recommend doing it from the start rather than replacing them with the extension later. In this case I did not add a socket for placing further rubber pads on it, because it is not meant to be thick enough to receive them anyways. If you have a delicate floor you may just glue felt pads or go the fancy way and print them in TPU.
