Description
Have you ever experienced a loud, squeaky noise when your MINI/+ Prusa printer performs auto home or when the X-axis moves up or down?
This issue is often caused by misalignment in the Z-axis assembly. It can sometimes be solved by adjusting the screws that hold the top Z motor or even the entire Z motor mount on the extrusion. However, in some cases, this isn't enough.
I personally tried reassembling the Z-axis, but the noise persisted. It turns out the Z leadscrew was making contact with the bottom part of the Z-axis plate.
This Z damper, inspired by the Z-top housing of the Prusa XL, is designed to eliminate that annoying squeaky sound once and for all.
You can print it in PLA, PETG, or even more technical filaments — whatever works best for your setup.
Just use the default "Structural Part" profile in PrusaSlicer and you'll be good to go. 🙂
Let me know if it worked for your printer!
