Cereal Container Filament Storage – Desiccant Holder Remix

This is a custom remix of the popular Cereal Container Filament Storage System, designed to improve the functionality and reliability of the desiccant holder and hygrometer mount.

In the original design, I found that the hygrometer component didn’t stay securely in place—it always needed tape to stay put. To solve this, I completely redesigned the desiccant holder with two key improvements:

Twist-Fit Desiccant Chamber:

A secure, easy-to-use twist mechanism holds the desiccant in place without the need for adhesives or additional fasteners.

Dovetail Hygrometer Mount:

The hygrometer now slides into a snug dovetail slot, locking it in securely with no tape or glue required.

I currently have six containers set up this way for "current use" filament storage, and the rest of my spools are stored in sealed ziplock bags with desiccant until needed. Everything was printed in PLA, using supports only on the hygrometer section for ease of cleanup and faster print times.

This remix makes the storage system more robust, more modular, and just a bit more satisfying to use. Hope it’s helpful to others!
