Lamy Safari Cap Screw Replacement

The Lamy Safari's cap is held together by a plastic screw going into a brass bushing. The screw is fragile and can snap if too much stress is put on the clip.

This is a replacement for that screw. The thread in the bushing is M5, which is hard to print, so the replacement is unthreaded and taps into the bushing.

Print settings:

• Default STL has a 4.46mm screw shank. Adjust thread_dia in the included OpenSCAD and use trial and error til it fits
• ASA or any other filament with good inter-layer bonding like PA
• 0.4mm nozzle
• 0.1mm layer height
• 100% infill or 3 walls and default infill%
• As slow and hot as possible for good layer bonding without blobs
• may need to print one at a time if there is stringing or poor adhesion

Assembly:

Before putting the cap back together, form a thread in the screw using the bushing by hand. Once the screw fits the bushing by hand, reassemble the barrel.
