Description

This is a laser holder for Vixen dovetails. This can be used to help polar align equatorial (EQ) mounts.

This version is the straight thru model. If you have a ZWO Seestar, you'll want the right-angle version I made for use with EQ mounts due to the position that the Seestar is held by the mount.  It is available here: https://www.printables.com/model/1260225-vixen-dovetail-laser-adapter-for-zwo-seestar-right

This can be used with the generic green lasers that you can easily pick up from various vendors inexpensively. I bought mine from eBay for $10. Look at the photos to see exactly which one works best. This is designed for lasers with 22.5mm diameter. I also have another laser that has a different handle, measuring 23.1mm, and it also fits and would work, although not quite as perfectly.

For hardware, you can use any M5 screw - would recommend between 16mm and 25mm long. Or you can use my M5 thumb screw, which I use with M5x30 hex head cap screws. Here is that design: https://www.printables.com/model/1260196-m5-hex-thumb-screw-knurled

Also, I've included my Rotary Laser Pointer Switch, found here: https://www.printables.com/model/1260429-laser-pointer-switch-rotary
