The tl;dr is - the stubby leg things that protrude out the bottom - you have to dremel off - in order to have the modem achieve a clean rectangular shape. in my opinion the legs are superfluous plastic bits anyway and quickly ‘zipping it off’ with a dremel or whatever rotary tool was extremely quick easy and painless.
