Description

TLDR; Back again with another seasonal Stress Test for your printer – and this one’s eggstra special! Download Spring Chicken, share your print with us, and you could win one of the cracking prizes below:

  • Most creative print: £100 E3D Store Credit
  • 2 x Randomly selected prints: £50 Store Credit

We’re rabbit hopping into Spring with a fresh challenge for your slicer settings. Introducing Spring Chicken. You’ll find this disoriented-looking bird tucked away inside a cracked eggshell, suspended mid-air with some precarious-looking bridges.

Built successfully, the chick wobbles around inside the egg. Sounds simple enough. Only takes 30 minutes or so to build too, what could possibly go wrong?!

How do I enter.... and what do I win?

To enter, please upload your prints to the Spring Chicken model page as a ‘Make with picture’. If you’re sharing your creation with us on social media, don’t forget to use #E3DSpringChicken so we can find and reshare your masterpiece!

Winners will be drawn on Monday, April 28th 2025.

Rules and Print Setting Tips

Just one rule: no supports!

Our best tip is to focus on your bed adhesion. With our desktop printers going so quickly nowadays, it’s likely this part will become dislodged from the bed. If you keep getting failures, consider slowing things down!

We’d also recommend keeping an eye on the print. If you see how it fails, you’ll know what to work on for next time.

When your print is complete, consider cutting or breaking the suspension strings to give your chick maximum wobble. Why not stick the model somewhere on your printer to take full advantage of the vibrations?
