Description

SafeStop M14

This custom-designed piston stopper is a must-have tool for small engine maintenance, perfect for use when replacing clutch drums or performing engine repairs. Unlike standard metal piston stoppers, this tool is made from plastic, making it more friendly to the piston and reducing the risk of damage during maintenance.

Designed specifically for small engines like trimmers, chainsaws, and other 2-stroke or 4-stroke motors, this piston stopper securely holds the piston in place, preventing it from moving during service.

Whether you're a seasoned mechanic or just starting to learn about small engine repairs, this tool is an essential addition to your toolkit.

✅ Made from plastic, making it much gentler on your piston than traditional metal stoppers
✅ Comes in three sizes: 55mm, 70mm, and 100mm

Key Features:

  • Safer for your piston – no risk of scoring or damage like with metal tools
  • Easy to use – just thread it into the spark plug hole
  • Multiple lengths for different engine designs
  • Fits standard spark plug threads (M14 x 1.25 – check compatibility)

💡 Pro Tip:
If you’re unsure which length fits your engine and you're working away from your printer, print the 100mm version. You can easily cut it to the right size on-site with a side cutter or similar tool.

How to Use:

  1. Insert the piston stopper into the spark plug hole of your engine.
  2. Rotate the crankshaft until the stopper firmly holds the piston in place.
  3. Perform maintenance tasks such as replacing clutch drums or checking engine parts.
  4. Once finished, remove the piston stopper and reassemble your engine.

Printing Settings:

Recommended Layer Height: 0.12 - 0.2 mm.

Infill Density: 100% (adjust based on your preferred strength).

Material: PLA, ABS, ASA, PA-CF, or PETG for durability. However, for the best results, I recommend using a filament that can withstand exposure to petrol for as long as possible, such as PETG or ASA.

Supports: No supports are required if printed upright.
