A couple of Desert Doodles!

Are succulents too difficult to take care of? Do you need a little green on your desk, or in your home, car, private jet, or 1993 Ford Bronco? Then print out a Desert Doodle! These mini cacti are easy to print out on any machine, but look the coolest on multi-material machines for a splash of color.

If you'd like to get your hands on one of these Desert Doodles, but you don't have a printer, you can pick one up over at my shop.

If you want to hear how I designed these, check out my blog post.

To make any of these on a MULTI MATERIAL PRINTER:

  1. Download the .ZIP file, which includes all assets for individual Doodles. (PrusaPrinters currently does not support .ZIP uploads - for this functionality, please visit the Thingiverse listing for this model) Or download all of them! They are free, after all.

  2. Using your slicer (I use PrusaSlicer 2.0.0), import all individual .STL files in the main folder. Make sure to have the slicer import them as a multi-color mesh rather than individual files.

  3. Slice. I had good luck using a 200 micron layer height.

  4. Print. I used PLA.

  5. Desert Doodle time!

If you have a SINGLE MATERIAL PRINTER:

  1. Download the .STL file for the individual Doodle you want to print. Or download all of them! Each .STL is also packaged in the .ZIP file, in case you want the other assets (see Thingiverse listing).

  2. Slice. Again, 200 microns works great.

  3. Print. PLA is a good choice here.

  4. Give a Desert Doodle to anyone you meet to immediately befriend them.

Have fun, and keep on printing!

-Brent
