Description
This is a very simple solution to repair a broken hinge of a lid in the interior of a Siemens freezer or fridge.
On my freezer the lid and the hinge broke due to abuse / wear and tear. The lid was always falling off, so I first designed a new hinge (see one of my other models) and then tried to find a solution to repair the lid itself.
Luckily there is enough space to fit a clip and close the broken area, so the lid cannot fall off anymore.
I scanned the non-broken side on a flatbed scanner. I had to trace the contour with a permanent marker, so the scanner could catch it. I traced the image in Inkscape and added a 0.8mm thickness around it. As well, a small tab is included so it is easier to fix. The SVG was exported and then imported to PS and extruded by 12.5mm and printed in PETG with 0.25mm strength profile on my MK4S.
Works like a charm - see photos.
