These are upgrade parts to turn your original magazine into a 20 round one.
Source files (FreeCAD 1.0) are included.
Parts needed:
- M3x12mm DIN912 socket head screw
- Spring from Diana Chaser magazine…
- …or wind your own spring: 10.5mm outer coil diameter, 8.5mm coil height, 5 windings, 0.5mm wire diameter, 2mm downwards hook on one end, 4mm sideways pin on other end
Tools needed:
- 2.5mm drill bit, drill (To clean up the M3 hole. Optional: Use an M3 tap if you have one)
- 2.5mm hex/allen key
- Fine Tweezers or needle and optionally an 1.5mm drill bit (To open up the hole for the springs hook and fix the spring during assembly)
- long nose pliers (To hold and thread the straight section of the spring into the magazine followers pin hole)
Step-by-Step Instructions:
- Print the pieces with the largest flat faces lying down. Use support for the follower
- Clean up the center hole in the magazines shell with a 2.5mm drill bit
- Optional: Use an M3 tap, but only go in ⅔ of the way, otherwise the screw gets too loose
- Clean up any burrs and strings inside the magazine parts where pellets rub against
- Open up the spring retention holes in the magazine case using the tweezers or a 1.5mm drill bit, this is where the springs hook goes.
- Make sure the spring retention hole in the follower can accept the springs pin
- Thread the hook of the spring into the magazine shells right side spring hole (when looking from behind the rifle), fix the springs hook in place by jamming the tweezers into the hole
- Thread the pin of the spring into the follower using the long nose pliers, while tilting the follower on its side
- Now bring the follower into the magazine shell by getting it level with the shell and threading in the end-stop tab into the pellet hole
- Install the screw as tight as possible, without the follower binding up
- Done!
The Spring installation will be difficult and rage inducing when doing it for the first time, so take your time!
