Description
Ikea's Malm bed has a steel bar in the middle that is lower than the wooden side edge and blocks their own Skubb under bed storage. But I will not be stopped from pushing my Skubbs all the way through to the other side, so I designed these risers.
They are ridiculously overengineered and come with the following features, all of which are totally free:
Malm has six feet and I suspect that all of them are load-bearing, so I would recommend printing six risers as well. PLA is probably not a good choice due to creep under load. For lack of a better (white!) alternative, I used PETG with 8 perimeters, 12 top/bottom layers and 10% infill. I'll probably notice if they fail.
I have the high, 140 cm wide Malm bed. Someone else has had a similar idea, but he must have a different Malm model than me. He says that his has 5 cm boards and a Roborock S8 can't pass under, whereas mine only has 4 cm thick boards and my S7 does pass.
