Description

This is a remix from the work created by RetroGameRevival and available here: https://www.printables.com/model/79131-turbografx16-tg16-pc-engine-av-booster-housing-min

I reduced the whole size, ditched the non-functioning video mode switch, and changed the mouting method from nuts and bolts to 2x6mm round head screws.

Printing tips:

  1. 0.2mm layer height
  2. All parts must be printed “as is”, except for the “back_trim”. This can be printed easily if set on it's back, but the priting lines won't match the line orientation of rest of the model. To match, I recomment to print the part upside-down. This will result in minimal supports.
  3. An infil of 15-20% is recomended.
  4. Parts that will receive screws may be printed with 3 wall lines (not 100% mandatory)
  5. Supports are necessary for the “back_trim” (read point 2), "board_holder" and "main". On the main, I recommend tree supports, and use a Support Overhang Angle value big enough to only have supports on the holes, and not on the side ridges. There will be suports on the bottom (the first ridge), but that's to be expected.

Assembly:

  1. Once the board is inside the main body, use four 2x6mm round head screws to attach the board holder to the main body. The hood part has to be well fitted to his corner.
  2. The ring piece has a specific position. The top part is thinner than the bottom, and that thinner part enters the slot in the lid. It only goes in one way. The lid attaches to the body with friccion alone. If you need to attach it more permanently, consider using some sort of glue.
  3. The back part is mounted to the main body again using 2x6mm screws.
  4. The whole assembly mounts to the PC Engine using only the plug. I recommend 2 dabs of hot glue to remove strain fom the plug.
