This is a two-part case for the Turbo Everdrive clone that can be found on Aliexpress.
The point of this is to offer a bigger chunkier case inspired by both the original HuCards, and other PC Engine expansion cards.
Printing tips:
- 0.2mm layer height is enough, smaller values, or adaptive layers produce best results.
- No supports are necessary.
- Parts are printed as is, “face down”.
- The base part should be printed in a smooth build plate (if available) for better sticker adherence.
Assembly tips:
- Before joining both parts, manually run a 2mm drill bit through the holes, to remove printing excess, otherwise, the plastics shafts might break trying to join both pieces.
- A 0.1mm gap was left between both parts so that an artwork can be added. I had some 0.1mm vinyl stickers printed, and used those as a reference, so if you have an artwork, it can be glued to the base piece before joining both parts.
- Once both parts are joined, offer them up to the Turbo Everdrive, and carefully check if no parts are fowling against the electronic components.
- Once everything is complete, use a hot iron/soldering iron to melt the tips of the shafts to permanently secure the case to the turbo everdrive.
User tips:
- The Reset button is easily accessible from the top of the shell
- The switch between PCE and TG16 is now harder to get to, but with pen of pencil tip, should still be usable.
- The SD Card is also harder to get to. If you need to remove the SD Card, use a pen tip, or another SD card to activate the mechanism. Once the SD card ejects, it's much easier to remove it. To re-insert the SD Card, line up the card in the slot, and again use a pen tip of another SD card to click it into position.
