Description

About a year ago, I thought it would be nice to create a 3D printable pen model with a real retractable click mechanism, as developed by Parker company in 1965. Today there is probably no one who would not use it.
I wanted to:
1/ make it completely 3D printable (except for the pen refill and the spring).
2/ use 0,2mm layer height.
3/ eliminate any post processing.
4/ allow easy assembly.
5/ make it work !!!

In the end everything worked out and I was very happy about it. All components are 3D printable (barrel, tip, plunger and cam) and work together properly. For now I made 2 simple cylindrical versions, with clip and without it.
I was wondering how to share it with others but when the PrusaPrinters came up with this contest, there was nothing to deal with.
So I am really honored to welcome this clever mechanism to the world of 3D printing.

Tested refills, often used:
1/ large capacity G2 refill (length 98mm)
2/ simple narrow (length 107mm)

Printing:
Please see 3mf file. Everything you see in it has it's own reason (especially printing orientation). I use brim to print everything for sure, but maybe it's not necessary.
All testing was performed using PLA.

Assembly:

1/ peel off brim

2/ clean a bit edges and tips of plunger (just with fingernail)

3/ insert plunger and cam all the way down into the barrel

4/ insert pen refill with spring into the pen tip

5/ screw pen tip with barrel together (for the first time the thread is tight)

6/ during the first clicks, the parts grind a little and then you're done ;)
