Description
A simple, articulated, and print-in-place T4 bacteriophage modeled after the real-life attachment process of a bacteriophage, with legs that bend to allow the phage baseplate to reach the cell surface. A great desk toy or learning tool for students and scientists alike!
Designed for final art project, Intro to Virology (C114) at UC Berkeley. Fusion and STEP files included, so feel free to modify this model.
Note 6/16/25: Check out rangido's remix for improved printability!
Tested successfully with 0.16mm layers in both Cura and Prusaslicer
Printing notes: This model can have adhesion issues because of the thin legs and hinge joints. Recommended to print with at least a brim, and supports if layer shifting/poor adhesion is observed. Brim - Yes, Supports - Highly Recommended
Please like/download if interested, it earns me points toward physical rewards!
