Typical showcase why everyone should have a 3D Printer.

My wife calls my printers toys, I call them tools (just because they are fun and we play a lot with them doesn't make them toys, right?). This is a perfect demonstration why.

First came the issue, a clog in the bathroom siphon box. The solution is simple (sometimes), open the cover, clean the dirt, close the box and that's it. Issue: The cover is always stuck and I don't have the proper tool to open it. Solution: Take measures, design, print!

This might not work for you though...

In the photos you can see the dimensions of the gap: 45mmx4.5mm. If yours is different size or format this will not work. Maybe its a good idea for you to start modeling your own objects. Its super easy and very satisfying. I suggest Fusion 360 for personal use if you want to try it out.

If you decide to print you should make it with enough infill to make it strong enough for the job. In my case I made it a solid body from layer 78 up. This can be made with a modifier in PrusaSlicer (screenshot), I imagine Cura have something similar. If not just adjust the number of top layers. I also used PETG so the tool is strong enough for the job. I do not recommend you to use PLA.

Also I found out that spraying with WD40 the lid is much more easier to open.

And also good luck :)

(photo of the open lid not included, believe me you would not like to see it...)
