Description
My Volantex Saber had a close encounter with a concrete pole, which dented the leading edge of one of the wings. After a poor repair job, it started to stall earlier on that wing, which made acrobatics much harder. Instead of repairing it correctly, I've decided to ruin the airflow on the rest of the wing with vortex generators. These VGs are 9% cord long and located at 8%, their height is 8 mm, angle of incidence is 15°.
Flight at low and moderate AoA is the same, but higher AoA can be attained before wing rock occurs, which itself is a bit less violent.
To install, tape the tool to the wing and cut slots in the wing approx 7 mm deep. After removing the tool, install VGs. You can use a drop of foam safe glue to attach them in place permanently, but they stay in place on their own just fine. Use provided pictures for reference.
Also, check out my other RC related stuff. Fly safe and happy printing!
