Description
Ribbon Cable Glide Mount for Ender 3 S1
Since owning the Ender 3 S1, I noticed that during tall prints—especially those approaching the machine's full 270mm Z height—the extruder ribbon cable tends to snag on the spool mount located at the top of the frame. This can lead to wear, stress on the cable, or even disconnection over time.
This simple but effective mod solves that issue by providing a smooth glide surface under the top aluminum extrusion, allowing the ribbon cable to move freely and safely. It helps reroute the cable away from spool mounts, Sonic Pad brackets, or any other top-mounted accessories, ensuring a safer and cleaner cable path during tall prints.
Available Versions:
Version 1: Uses 2 M3 x 8mm socket head cap screws and 2x standard T-nuts (commonly found on Enders) for a secure mount.
Version 2: Snap-fit design – no hardware needed. Clips underneath the extrusion with tolerance for mounted accessories.
Version 3: Same as Version 2 but sits flush against the extrusion for a cleaner look and tighter fit.
