Description
This optical data chip uses color swapping to achieve multi-color, done with a single extruder printer by automatically pausing at a layer, manually changing filament, and resuming. Check your slicer for this feature.
Update log
October 20 2024 - Added PDFs for paper-printing the labels as stickers, including an SVG file to use with a Cricut or similar machine for easy cutting.
3D printable label: print at .05mm layer height and swap colors at the text's first layer.
Top: print at .2mm layer height and swap colors at the circuit pattern's first layer. Use a fine tip and apply very tiny drops of glue inside each corner of the bottom before inserting the top with the pattern facing down. Face it up if you don't have transparent filament.
Bottom: print at .2mm layer height.
There is a custom dock and a traditional display stand.
The PLA filaments I used for the light blue and yellow ones were 3D Solutech See through Aqua Blue and Yellow, RepRapper silk white (circuit).
The dark blue, orange, and green ones are PETG by IEMAI and the circuit pattern is CC3D white PETG.
The tags were done in Ziro matte white and Overture matte black.
