Building of the success of the DBS114, I now present the DBS150! This is a mostly 3D Printed Newtonian style reflecting telescope specifically designed for long exposure imaging. It's very similar in construction to the DBS114, but larger and incorporates a few additional features.
EDIT 4-26-26
Changed the secondary spider again. This design uses 0.015 inch thick spring steel vanes (doubled up, so 0.030 inch total vane thickness.) Still 3D printed central spider hub and outside vane mounting parts. Same front tube spider mounting. This spider has been performing quite well for me lately. the spring steel vanes can be ordered from SendCutSend for pretty cheap (~$33 shipped for 10 total parts.)
The previous design, fully 3D printed spider should still work, but DO NOT USE PPA-CF (as I had previously suggested. My spider printed in this material suffered from significant material creep and would not hold collimation for longer than one night or so. After removing it to install the new version of the spider, there was noticeable deformation. I recommend printing it in PET-CF or ezPC-CF.
EDIT 1-11-26
Changed spider to allow for left-right adjustment of secondary mirror (relative to focuser drawtube axis)
Removed obsolete parts
EDIT 11-25-25
Added a couple of images to the main image group up top. Two exploded views with Bills of Materials. Temporary documentation while I work on more detailed, proper docs.
------------------------------------------------
EDIT 11-12-2025
Added new 4-point Primary Mirror Cell and Mirror Hold Down Ring - This id recommended over the older 3 point cell.
---------------------------------
EDIT 10-31-25 - Quick upload of some nice changes. Documentation to come… hopefully. Join the Discord -for details.
changed how the rear tube section mounts. No more set screws and heat set inserts at angles. Now just M8 flat head screws into the 15mm carbon tubes. Need to print and glue m8 threaded inserts into the tubes.

SECONDARY_MIRROR_MOUNT_WITH_VANES_NO_OFFSET_1.35 - [thinner secondary vanes. Print in the strongest material you can, PET-CF, ezPC-CF]
-----------------------------------
EDIT 5-27-25 - Added 3D Printable, zero offset secondary spider and supporting tube front. This is now the recommended configuration. See updated video.
--------------------------
EDIT 5-9-25 - Added an option for a 3D Printed, one piece secondary spider as a low cost alternative to carbon fiber vanes.
