Dustcover Hinge for Thorens Turntables [New Version]

Hinges for Thorens turntable dustcovers, for models TD145, TD160, TD165, and TD166 Mk II, with a number of improvements and a similar look and feel to the original. Prints well in both PLA and PETG. 

Stronger hinge pins, correct alignment with print layers for maximum strength, pre-tensioned clips, less support material, and improved printability for FDM printers. A 2mm hole is provided inside the Upper Hinge for an optional 2x16mm metal dowel pin. The turntable cover may now be removed in both in the raised and lowered positions.

Print orientation with manual supports as pictured. 0.2mm layer height, at least 30% infill (to ensure enough material inside the hinge pins) and 2 perimeters for either PLA or PETG. A modeled support is included in the Lower Hinge models to ensure the round hole in the spring clip prints correctly

To free the spring clip: use a small flathead screwdriver inserted between it and the hinge body.

There is a brief wear-in period for the hinge: after a few dozen cycles, the hinge should move smoothly. If the hinge still doesn't move smoothly, check for loose support material.
