MZ4250 is amazing. Probably objectively the single best mini creator by volume, cost and quality of work. I'm running a Curse of Strahd campaign and in Kresk there is a little Gazebo by a magic pool so of course that Gazebo needs to be the “Dread Gazebo” (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eric_and_the_Dread_Gazebo).
While my resin printer is working again I prefer to print structured in FDM and while I LOVE the dread gazebo I really don't want to have the mini as much as a repurposed version with some fitted accessories. So I made this version for myself.
Per the screenshot there is a bottom section, mid section and top. These can be printed without supports. The teeth and tongue can be printed with some minor supports and easily be pried loose. I've re-added the roof from the original print but it is unchanged and will have some mini hidden supports that aren't easy to clean out from inside the top (you could maybe print without tooo!)
For running this I intend to do a “Turtle test” scenario which is an interesting object that they can't resist interacting with (like a turtle on the side the road). When the players engage with the object that first person has to roll a d6. With 1-3 this is a Dread Gazebo and 4-6 being a regular Gazebo (or often I like to add a boon of some kind +1 inspiration for everyone etc…)
I've added my 3mf file so you can see my print settings but on the bottom, mid and top pieces no supports should be needed but will need to be glued together (paint or prime before you glue for better coverage). Tongue and teeth and original roof will need some supports. Don't glue the roof on and then it'll be easier to have it swallow players.
The teeth will need sticky tack to keep up in there and it's probably going to be awkward as I struggle with adding the parts in and they may fall out in combat but it's supposed to be a funny encounter anyways so denture issues are just more fun, right?
I really like the statblock here but I think this Gazebo looks like it swallows so I might work on a statblock and update this post with that. I'm thinking something like the Shambling Mound statblock but without lightning damage and immunities etc... Honestly it might be fun to double its HP (or use max shambling mound hp) and then give it weakness to all physical damage because it's so old and rotted out. Lots of options :)
