My friend recently got hooked on woodworking and started making mobile phone stands with built-in natural sound amplifier.
Last week, he ask to me "Do you have any ideas to make it sound better?", so I was also obsessed with it and made some prototypes with a 3D printer. At last I reached to a very simple horizontal stand with reflector.
- When the iPhone is placed horizontally, it uses the left and right speakers to play stereos, so if you are particular about sound you should do that.
- I realized that bass reflexes, backload horns, and long horns will cause random reflections of sound, so I choiced the simple reflector style.
- Size that can be placed from the iPhone 12 SE without a case to the iPhone 16 Pro Max with a case.
- Cutouts are placed on the back so you can use MagSafe.
- You can print without any support.

友達が最近木工にはまって、スピーカースマホスタンド作りを始めました。もっといい音にするアイデアはないか？と相談されたので、自分も夢中になって3Dプリンターでいくつか試作してみた結果、非常にシンプルな横置きスタンド＋反射板だけの形状になってしまいました。
- iPhoneは横置きしたときに左右のスピーカーを使ってステレオ再生してくれるので音にこだわるなら横置き
- バスレフやバックロードホーンや長いホーンは音の乱反射を招きこもった音になると実感したので単純な反射板のみに
- ケースなしiPhone 12 SEからケース入りiPhone 16 Pro Maxまで置けるサイズ
- MagSafe充電できるように背面に切り欠きを配置
- サポートなしでプリントできる形状
