Description
Extension tube for Nikon F mount. Minimal hardware required only for aperture control.
There is a groove on the camera side to allow for the lock to keep it in place, this same lock will with a bit of filament lock the lens as well. Keep in mind that it is not made out of metal, so avoid heavy lenses and brisk movements if possible.
Print settings
≥ 3 walls
20% infill (gyroid or similar is ideal)
snug supports not only on buildplate
Print as oriented
Fuzzy skin
Fuzzy skin contour
Use the modifier to keep the important parts normal
Print Materials
ASA/ABS is ideal if you can have good layer strength
PETG is also good but can be too weak for big lenses
PLA should work but might become loose over time
Hardware
M3x6mm BHCS *only for aperture control
Filament lock installation
Make sure that filament can easily slide in the hole or else the Lens could remain locked. You can expand it with a 2mm drill to be sure
Cut a piece of filament that is a bit longer than the extension tube. Make sure that the cut is flat
Mount the extension tube on the camera body
put the bit of filament in the hole with the flat side to the body
Use a pair of flush cutters (ideally) to cut the filament to be flush with the front surface
