Description
When I remixed BREXIT's 25, 32 and 40mm bases to make the walls thinner*, I mentioned the possibility of using the extra space for a small battery, to power lights, etc on a model. That made me think that another couple of mm might be nice, so here these are. They are noticably taller, but why not give your poor little mini a bit more presence!
They look nice printed with 0.1mm layer height, on my Bambu A1 (0.2mm first layer).
0.4mm nozzle.
Using up some ancient, black PLA that's been soaking up the atmosphere for about 5 years. Still coming out just fine.
Quick note: the walls are not exactly 1mm thick at the bottom, very slightly wider. This is because I just used a duplicate of the base to subtract from the original. The top (flat surface) of the base is exactly 1mm thick though - should that be important.
Pictures show the new, taller version, alongside the previous thin shell version and the original by BREXIT. I've not tried to make BREXIT's one look bad, but I did print it in 0.2 layer height, before deciding on 0.1 for the rest of my bases. The top layer (printed upside down for zero support) looks better on the thin walled ones, because there is no pattern, only concentric walls.
