Description
Mounting bracket designs are included for both horizontal and vertical mounting of the propeller/fan assembly to the breadboard which also holds the Arduino UNO R3 board and associated electronics. Print the fan blades vertical and trim the tabs using dykes after printing close to the base of the blade. If you sand the trimmed area just right the blades should self-hold in the correct position while you Loctite the blades within the spindle. The spindle should fit the 5mm keyed motor shaft as printed. Likewise the hole for the 10-24 set screw should be sized right as printed. That hole will be slightly oval as you print it standing up. That said it is optional to run a No. 25 .149" drill thru it before tapping for a better tapping result. Be sure to run the tap deep enough for a fully tapped hole. The blades can be assembled with the fat edge leading or trailing. BTW I never print PLA anymore since the superior PETG filament, at least currently, has no cost penalty.
