Description
These are a follow on to the Gridfinity trays for coarse threads that I recently uploaded. The kits for UNF threads come with a two piece installation tool, and it wasn't going to be practical to fit them into 1x3 squares like I could with the UNC kits, so these are 2x3. The kits don't normally include the required drill, but since there was room, I added a space for that also.
As with the UNC trays, these are for the sizes of helicoil kits that I currently have on hand. At some time in the future I may need to purchase additional thread sizes, but for now I have no immediate plans to add to these. As before, I added the lip to make these stackable. I don't normally do that with my Gridfinity tool holders, but it might make some sense to stack these for some users. Maybe forego the magnets if you plan to stack them.
Like my other Gridfinity models, the bases are altered to accept 6x3 magnets as a press fit, with the upper surface of the magnet holes modified to make the slicer bridge across correctly for a clean result. Due to the size of the models, I have included sacrificial “mouse ears” in the CAD to give the ends more surface area to help prevent them warping off the bed. These will need to be removed after printing.
The units pictured were printed out of Polymaker ABS on my Voron 2.4, using a 0.6mm nozzle, at 0.3mm layer height.
