Description
This is another version of the bullet-style textile sleeve insertion tool. It makes the cable sleeving steps of assembling a Prusa printer much easier, and it makes a smoother looking result than doing it by hand.
My version has a longer, more tapered nose that makes it easier to keep it in the sleeve while sliding. It is simply two parts that join together to make the whole.
I modeled this in Fusion 360. I've included the CAD files in both .f3d and .STEP formats for you remixing pleasure.
Orient the parts with their noses facing up. You may have to add brims to keep them attached to the bed. Material, perimeter, and layer height are not critical.
Put the two halves together around the wire bundle. Slip the textile sleeve over the nose cone and pull it down until it comes together behind the tool. Hold the rejoined end in place and slide the tool through the sleeve. At the other end, the tool falls into two pieces and can be removed.
