Eddie Bust - Iron Maiden (MMU ready)

What's this about?

This is Iron Maidens mascot, Eddie, in the “Book of Soul”-Edition. You can print this bust with every 3D printer in one colour, or with the MMU2 in five colours. For a single-colour print, use the provided *.stl-file. For a MMU-print, use the provided *.3mf-file, as explained below.

How to print this file in five colours?

You will need PrusaSlicer version 2.4 for a multimaterial print. In version 2.4, Prusa introduced “Multimaterial Painting”. In the provided *.3mf-file, this feature is used for the MMU printing; you can see the different colour regions by selecting the model and pressing the “N” button. Just make sure the selected filaments (e.g. main colour→Filament 1, second colour→Filament 2 etc…) and the purgin volumes are correct.

Description of the used settings in the *.3mf-file

• The provided *.3mf-file contains some settings you might need to change: It's set up to print the bust using a 0.6mm nozzle and 0.4mm layer heights. These settings are used to reduce the print time. The finished print still looks awesome with these settings, so I recommend to keep them. Just make sure to swap your nozzle or change it the print settings if you don't own a 0.6 nozzle. 

• There are support blockers on the back of the bust. I found that this area does not need support, but you should check it for yourself.

• There is a generic cylinder at the bottom of the print. It is used to fix one “little defect” of the model. Without the cylinder, a small part of the first layer won't print perfectly.
